Political career	Associated with Dravidar Kazhagam and Marxist-Leninist movement, during student days. Ravikumar was very active in retrieving Dalit history and associated with Vidudalai Ciruthaikal Katchi for more than ten years in many of its activities. Elected to Legislative Assembly of Tamilnadu from Kattumannarkoil reserved Constituency in the 2006 assembly elections.

Policy making	participated as a subcommittee member in the Tamil Nadu Tenth Planning Commission Served as Resource person in the Committee of Tamil Nadu govt for creating awareness on SC/STs among government employees
Personal Details	Born on 10.06.1961 in Manganampattu, a small village in Seerkaazhi Taluk of old Thanjavur district to Mr. Duraisamy and Mrs. Kanagammal His family includes his wife Senbagavalli (43) and his sons Aadhavan (22) and Adheedhan (19).
